Marking System & Weighted Grades


Report cards list numeric grade codes (100,95,etc.). the only courses included in the determination of a student’s grade point average are those offered on-campus at the senior high school during the regular school year. A differential weighting system is issued for the purpose of calculating grade point averages. A weighted course is any AP course.

Numerical grades at five point intervals with their grade points and weighted grade points are:

SEMESTER COURSES: In semester block courses, there will be two (2) mandatory interim reports and two (2) grading periods. All grades are cumulative. The final exam/assessment counts as 10% of the final semester grade unless stated otherwise in class syllabus handouts at the beginning of the semester. (Math exams will be 20%.) A passing grade is 65% or above.

SEMESTER 1
Interim Report Ends September 28, 2007
Qtr. 1 Grade Ends November 2, 2007
Interim Report Ends December 14, 2007
Qtr. 2 Grade Ends January 18, 2008
Exam/Assessment Grade + Final Course Grade

SEMESTER 2
Interim Report Ends February 29, 2008
Qtr. 3 Grade Ends April 4, 2008
Interim Report Ends May 9, 2008
Qtr. 4 Grade Ends June 16, 2008
Exam/Assessment Grade + Final Course Grade

Interim and Report Cards are mailed home to parents. Students should keep track of grades on regular basis.
