Philosophy of the Discipline Policy
It is the philosophy of Mount Anthony Union High School to allow students to develop responsibility and self-discipline as essential elements of their education. The discipline code provides a framework within which students have the opportunity to learn and practice responsible behavior and intelligent self – direction. In this way, an atmosphere conducive to good education can be established. Ideally, students should conduct themselves so that the right of other students to learn is respected. Some clear guidelines have to be set forth to establish appropriate behavior, and sanctions have to be in place for conduct which interferes with the educational atmosphere of the school.
