Guitar 1

This semester-long course is geared to the beginning guitar student. Students learn the basics of guitar playing which include reading guitar chord tabulator, strumming patterns, finger picking techniques/patterns and music note reading. Some singing will be involved. Music periods will range from the '50s to current. Enrolled students are required to perform in the winter or spring concerts. Grades are based on class and concert attendance as well as written and solo playing. There is a final playing exam requirement.

Note: The school will provide a guitar, but the student is responsible for any damage the guitar sustains while in his or her care.
