Ceramics 1

Introduction to working with clay. The course will emphasize the three basic hand-building methods: pinch, coil and slab. These methods will be used to create objects, both functional and sculptural, of the student's own design. In addition, students will learn glazing techniques and basic wheel throwing.

Note: Ceramics I can also be completed as a short block in two semesters. A sketchbook is required.
