Spanish 5

mauhs

Honors/Advanced Placement Option: This course emphasizes the use of Spanish for active communication and is conducted entirely in the target language. Students continue with the study of advanced grammar, focusing on past subjunctive and fine points of the Spanish language. During the course, students refine the four language skills in preparation for the SAT Subject Test and Advanced Placement exams. Cultural components for this course are the same as Spanish 4: art, history and literature of the Hispanic world. Materials used in the course, in addition to those that accompany the textbook, include recordings of native speakers, films, music, AP practice tests, newspapers and magazines. The course is offered second semester so as not to conflict with core area AP courses. It is strongly recommended that the student take the AP exam in May.
