Honors/Advanced Placement Option: This advanced language course is taught exclusively in German and prepares the student to speak, write and understand the language on a sophisticated level. The class focuses on the history of Germany from 1925 until today. The students will read two books through which they will gain a deeper insight into the events of the Second World War and its consequences for the German people and also learn about the two separated German states. In addition to the literary works, movies, film documentaries, guest speakers, newspaper articles and poems will provide a basis for many discussions, role-plays, free writes, and cultural projects. All students are constantly involved in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Each activity is aimed to give them the opportunity to refine their grammar skills and increase their vocabulary.
