Honors/Advanced Placement Option: This course emphasizes the use of French for active communication and is conducted in the target language. This class features new, complex structures in grammar and vocabulary acquisition for use across all four areas of listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Students will read extracts from anthologies of French culture and literature, and will choose a study project outside of class. French 5 students also prepare for the Achievement Exam, Listening Achievement and AP exams. Materials used in the course include recordings of native speakers, video, authentic literature, AP practice tests and newspapers. It is strongly recommended that the student take the AP exam in May.
