SS Psychology



This course is designed to acquaint students with the basic theories and concepts of psychology while applying them to a better understanding of themselves and others. Topics included are developmental psychology from prenatal stages through old age, perception, states of consciousness, learning and conditioning, emotion and motivation, memory, personality and mental illness. Students are introduced to the teachings of Freud, Erikson, Rogers, Piaget, Pavlov, Skinner and others. A variety of learning activities are used in the classroom. Students are also required to complete weekly assignments on psychological issues of their choice.
