AP English 12 Literature & Composition



This course focuses on British literature and emphasizes the writing of college level critical/analytical papers with in class impromptu pieces and longer polished papers. All students taking this course are expected to take the AP Literature and Composition exam in May. It is recommended that students taking this course also take the 12th Grade AP Literature 45 minute review class during the spring semester. This course builds upon the skills students have developed in AP English 11 Honors and adds poetry analysis and interpretation. Students taking this course complete 1 credit in the fall semester and have an optional review in the spring semester for an additional 0.5 credits. It is expected that the AP exam will be taken in May. Students will be expected to complete summer reading texts and assigned work. Assignments are available from the Literature and Composition Department Head Teacher.
