English 9A Literature & Composition Humanities and (0461) SS1 World History Humanities

Earns credits in SS1 World History Academic and English 9 Literature & Composition (1 credit each).

The Literature A program is designed for college preparatory students. Students will be required to complete two summer reading books: one that is assigned and given to students and one chosen by them from the book list. During the semester, students will be expected to read a minimum of five full-length novels and/or plays, as well as draft eight formal papers. Work with poetry, drama, short literary pieces, grammar, and vocabulary will be ongoing. An average of 30 minutes per evening of homework will be expected of the students in this program.
